How We Estimate YouTube Earnings

Our calculator focuses on YouTube ad revenue (AdSense / Partner Program style), not sponsorships, memberships, or product sales. We use public channel stats and industry-style RPM ranges.

  • Estimate monthly views: We blend lifetime average views (total views ÷ channel age) with recent upload performance when available.
  • Monetized-view rate (70%): Not every view shows ads. Skips, ad blockers, non-monetized inventory, and Shorts fill rates reduce payouts, so we count about 70% of estimated views as monetized.
  • RPM range: Base RPM starts around $0.25–$4.50 per 1,000 monetized views, then we adjust for niche (e.g. education/finance higher, gaming/music often lower) and audience region (e.g. US/UK higher, many emerging markets lower).
  • Kids-content adjustment: If a channel is marked made-for-kids, we reduce RPM sharply because personalized ads are limited.
  • Convert to earnings: earnings = (monetized views ÷ 1,000) × RPM for daily, monthly, and yearly low / mid / high scenarios.

Example:

A gaming channel with 100,000 estimated monthly views, a US audience, and not made for kids might look like this:

Monetized views 70,000
Mid RPM $2.01 / 1K
Monthly mid ~$141
Low estimate ~$20
High estimate ~$361
Formula (views ÷ 1K) × RPM

Total mid estimate: ~$141 per month (range ~$20 – $361)

Real channels also earn from sponsorships, memberships, merch, and affiliates — those are not included here. Paste a real channel above to generate a customized estimate.

How we estimate YouTube earnings

  • Estimate monthly views from lifetime averages blended with recent uploads when available.
  • Count about 70% as monetized views to reflect skips, ad blockers, and uneven ad fill.
  • Apply an RPM range ($0.25–$4.50 base) adjusted for niche and audience region, with a kids-content reduction when needed.
  • Convert with earnings = (monetized views ÷ 1,000) × RPM for low, mid, and high scenarios.

Example: a US gaming channel with 100,000 monthly views → about 70,000 monetized views × ~$2.01 mid RPM ≈ $141/month (wider low–high band around $20–$361).
