Bits

Bits are Twitch's virtual currency that viewers use to cheer for streamers during live broadcasts. When someone sends Bits, they're essentially tipping you while also unlocking special emotes and badges. One Bit equals one cent to the streamer, so 1,000 Bits equals $10 in your pocket.

Bits serve multiple purposes—they're income, engagement, and status symbols all at once. Viewers enjoy the recognition that comes with cheering large amounts. Streamers benefit from both the revenue and the engagement boost (Twitch's algorithm favors streams with active Bit usage).

You can encourage Bit donations through on-stream goals, alerts, and recognition shoutouts. Some streamers create tiered rewards: 100 Bits gets a thank you, 1,000 Bits gets a song request, 5,000 Bits gets your name on a whiteboard. Bits represent committed viewers willing to financially support your content—they're more valuable than passive viewers. Growing your Twitch presence?
